Berlin is infamous for its sassy, tongue in cheek cabaret and burlesque traditions. Notably during the roaring nights of the Weimar republic, when creative use of tassels, lyrics, leather , gender role bending and application of glitter defied social conventions, legal restrictions, and in the early days of the third Reich - fascism itself.

Alas, to the ill-informed observer, it would seem that those glorious days of smoky cutting edge theatrics are long gone. Devoured by somber reflections and restrained commercial diversions. Being a devotee and conossore of fine decadence, I refused to accept this apparent miserable state of affairs, and set out to discover the hidden packets of Weimar republic spirit in Berlin, excavating the sites of the legendary past, and unearthing halls and dives of degenerate preforming arts, very much alive and kicking.

An exploration of Berlin's decadent underground- from tiny basement burlesques shows and nostalgic bars run by retired glamour girls, through industrial blood performances , to glamorous verity cabarets and pumping fetish and techno hedonist temples.
