By Moscow's literature and architecture you understand its history; by its art and music you understand its image and vibe. But true, authentic character of the country lies in its food.
Why not indulge in a Russian authentic delicacies and plan a visit to good local restaurants of different cuisines at your choice: Russian, Ukranian, Belorrussian, Uzbek, Georgian, Armenian, Lithuanian, Ossetian, Moldovian.
Here are the best spots for your summer experience in Moscow. Have a look and get inspired!
1. Russkie Sezony (Russian Seasons): Russian classics with local ingredients, as well as fantastic panoramic views of Moscow from terrace will amke your authentic Russian dinner unforgettable
2. For more local ingredients go to Swissotel's Acapella, where they take the word "local" seriously. Even the jam of homemade ouatmeal cookies changes each season, being made from seasonable fruits.
3. If you are looking for authentic Russian cuisine, Oblomov may be a good choice. Much is prepared in an old-fashioned Russian stove.
4. Want something completely unique? How about the borsch pizza in SchiSliva, just a minute walk from the Christ the Savior Cathedral? The Russian soup's ingredients on a pizza base, coming with beetroot juice will leave you in awe.
5. Now this one is Ukranian, but since Ukranian has common roots with Russian, there's little, if any, difference in the cuisines. So, if you wonder what an old Muscovite Khachapuri and Odessa's naval restaurant look like, head to Odessa Mama. Pancakes here are kneaded with sauerkraut, which gives it a very local touch. Some snacks come with free mini baked potatoes.
As an alternative we can visit some Food Festivals, like "Festival of International Food from 6 continents"
