Move over wonder bread
Some of San Francisco's favorite places for baked goods are Tartine, Thorough Bread, and Arizmendi Bakery. The thing they all have in common? They bake their breads from scratch fresh and right on the spot. At $10+ a loaf, eating delicious bread can be an expensive habit.
Fresh homemade breads are within everyone's reach, and they don't have to cost a small fortune. I'll show you how you can make tasty artisan breads at home. Choose from sourdough, honey wheat or hearty multi grain. You'll learn the basics and then leave with a loaf and enough confidence to try your own recipes at home.
Please join me at my cozy SOMA apartment right above a beloved local brewery. After 2 hours of quality time in the kitchen you'll be on your way to a future rich in bread making.
For: Carbofiles.
Cost includes lesson, loaf of fresh bread and fresh dough to bake at home.

I had no idea that baking bread was such a science! Nichole had us prepare delicious, soft, chewy baguettes that were fit for a top end restaurant! When we arrived she had us first taste two different types of homemade challas that were made with different eggs to see if we could taste a difference. It was a very interesting experiment and we could indeed, taste a difference. Who knew eggs played such an important roll? She then walked us through the process of combining the ingredients, kneading, and the baking process and explained the WHY behind everything! I have a new found appreciation for yeast. The best part was eating our fresh out of the oven bread! I want to take Nichole's class again so I can learn more types of bread!
