"Go ahead, make my day!"

If you knew that was the tag line from the great Clint Eastwood movie "Dirty Harry", shot in San Francisco, you will love this tour! If you didn't, you really need to take this tour!

From the house used in "Mrs. Doubtfire" to the hotel featured in "Vertigo," this tour will show you the filming locations for some great San Francisco movies.

Our tour will start at Alta Park in Pacific Heights. Here we will see the steps that were permanently damaged by a car chase scene during production of the Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neil comedy "What’s Up Doc?". We will explore several other locations in Pacific Heights, including houses from "Mrs. Doubtfire", "Bullitt" starring Steve McQueen, and "Towering Inferno" starring Paul Newman and McQueen.

Next we’ll hop on a bus towards Nob Hill where hotels such as the Fairmont and the Mark Hopkins Hotel served as locations in classic movies like Alfred Hitchcock’s "Vertigo." From here we will walk to Chinatown, the setting for the film adaptation of Amy Tan’s "The Joy Luck Club." We will then head to North Beach where will see other movie scenes and stop for a cafe au lait or cappuccino, etc. at the classic S.F. Italian-style café where Francis Ford Coppola allegedly co-wrote the Academy Award-winning movie "The Godfather." We will also visit a couple locations used in "Dirty Harry," including Washington Square Park in the heart of North Beach.

The tour will end at a pizza parlor in North Beach. Established in 1978, this local hangout, just a block from the main street Columbus Ave., is a great place to sit down for a slice and some beer.

For: Everybody who enjoys movies! Especially movies with scenic locations.
