Step inside magnificent lobbies, corridors, and the underground Pedway System for an in-depth look at architecture and a personal, cultural approach to experiencing downtown. Great for any time of year, groups stay indoors for most of the walking tour. Highlights include a historic department store, a skyscraper church, the infamous Block 37, and the sparkling mosaics of the Chicago Cultural Center. Guests engage with photos and video clips on shared iPads while a live tour guide shares expert commentary on this architectural and historical tour.

I like wandering Chicago by foot, stopping to imagine what goes on inside unmarked buildings or where passersby are headed. I’m really excited about Chicago architecture, and studied it through the Masters of Arts Program in the Humanities at the University of Chicago. My love for stories was enriched by my B.A. in Literature from the University of Michigan. My travel writing has appeared in Rick Steves’ Italy best-selling travel guides, Trazzler, and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Having traveled the world, I know that Chicago is a world-class city, and I love to show it off. Full profile
