In Slovenia we say that our country is heaven on the south side of the Alps. On the south side of Maribor are starting Alps, and on the north side Slovenske gorice. The Slovene Hills or Vineyards are the largest hilly region in the northeast of Slovenia. As the name suggests, is this the land of wine, vineyards and wine cellars. Many farmhouses and wineries offer excellent wine and food. Welcome to the land of friendly people, that God has blessed with many good things, especially with wine.
