This full day tour is designed to go at a leisurely pace and allow you to experience the best that Bali has to offer: beautiful mountain and lake vistas, stunning verdant rice terraces, gorgeous countryside farms, unique coffee and spice farms, peaceful and spirtual temples. All off the beaten track and away from the busiest parts of Bali.
The views in Kintamani are, in a word, wonderful. Mount Batur, an active volcano, is about 1717 m tall, the cone formed by an eruption in 1917. The original village of Kintamani was destroyed by that same eruption and by another eruption in 1926 and was rebuilt in its current location.
After a leisurely breakfast and some sightseeing, you will be driven to a luwak coffee farm to see how this amazing unique coffee is made. You will have the opportunity to taste what is claimed to be the most expensive, sublime coffee in the world.
After the coffee farm, you will then be driven to the village of Bayunggede which is your starting point for bicycle ride. The bicycle tour is carefully designed to be entirely downhill, on a gently sloping terrain, so it is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
The bicycle tour will last about 2.5 hours, winding your way through small, remote and rural villages and back roads that few tourists are privileged to see. But don’t worry, your air-conditioned car will follow you, so if you get tired or hot and want to get back in the car – not problem (“tidak apa-apa” as they say).
Your tour will end in the village of Bangkiangsidem just outside Ubud. From there you will be driven back to your hotel or villa. Or if you, want, you can walk back to the Main Road in Ubud through the countryside just north of Ubud where there are spectacular views and a great local restaurant.
The Balinese are gracious and if you ask with a smile, they are always open to your experiencing their way of life. Full profile
