Greenwich Village Food Tour

GREAT TOUR ! Well worth the money. There were only 4 people on our tour which was great. We passed other tours with about 16 people in them trying to crowd into the little restaurants and places. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the food was fantastic. She really went out of her way to make sure we had a good experience. This is the only way to see and experience Greenwich Village. Wear good shoes and come hungry ! The Eastmans from Michigan

Our tour fully matched the the promising description on the Vayable site. We went on at combi tour stating with at walk through High Line - wonderfull place. Then we went to Greenwich Village - saw this beautifull place and tasted world class food. Alex was at vivid and knowledgeable guide. We can highly recomend this tour

This was a GREAT tour! Nancy is very, very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about The Village that I had never heard. The best part of the tour was that it was SMALL-- just our family. We have been on many tours with 20-30+ people and have struggled to hear what the guide was saying, or have fallen slightly behind and missed things. Nancy was able to cater to us, waiting for us when one of our party was late and giving us extra time at sites that meant a lot to us. She even walked us over to a great guitar shop when she heard that my husband was a guitar player. I DEFINITELY will be back to this company in the future!

I am certain our walking tour group will be discussed for years to come - or at least we had so much fun Alex made me think we were that special. What was supposed to be a 2 hour food and walking tour of Greenwich Village - turned into a 5 hour tour with delicious beer pit stops along the way. It was the perfect way to waste away an afternoon. We were a small group and Alex took advantage of that by giving us a specialized day with "extra" stops all along the way. He quickly cued in on my lifelong love affair with artichokes, and gave us not one but two delightful artichoke detours. The tour content included history, but was not overwhelming and easy to remember. Alex's easygoing demeanor allowed our group to feel comfortable from the onset, and left our small foursome feeling like long lost chums at the end the evening. Manhattan Walking Tour is a class act, and I would highly recommend it.

Another couple joined my husband and I on the culinary Greenwich Village Tour with Alex. What an incredible afternoon! It's not hard to impress me when you combine food with interesting historical sites, but my husband is immune to both of those temptations. His perfect afternoon is watching some sporting event--not going on a walking tour--so his comment that he "had a great time" is truly high praise. Alex was extremely knowledgeable about the Village, the obvious sites like Washington Square, and the totally obsure, like where to get the best trinkets and gifts in tucked away, tiny stores. He shared shopping tips as well as tales of historical note and fun gossip. We hung on his words, no splitting off as usually happens on guide-led tours. And, have I mentioned the food! We had no idea we would have so many stops, with such a variety of food to sample. No need for dinner after this outing! It is also noteworthy that the business side of the company also provides great service. We had missed our deadline to use the coupon we had purchased, and Garry completely ignored that technicality, allowing us to come when it suited us. The graciousness was so unexpected, the friendliness pervasive, that it is with delight that I write this glowing recommendation. I never provide comments on these websites, but this experience was just too good not to share!
