A fun trip back through time with an eccentric host!

I'm a San Francisco history buff, and this by far was the most detailed, documented, and informative tour I've been on (and I've attended most of the city's walking tours.) It was also just plain fun! Two and a half hours of fascinating facts as we strolled about the downtown and Barbary Coast areas, the time flew by. The "Emperor" in peerless period dress, pointed out things of beauty and interest for the entire time. He kept things moving and it seemed everyone has a fantastic time. He also had access to some neat private/business places, so we felt sort of special. The only other walking tour I can give full stars to is the SF Ghost Hunt, and this Time Travel adventure is equal in fact, fun, and fiction. I can't recommend this tour enough for someone in San Francisco for the first time, or for locals who want to learn more about their hometown, I was surprised as how many new things I learned!

AMAZING!

I'm so excited I was able to see this experience! I've lived in San Francisco for almost 8 years and I learned more history I EVER knew!! I recommend this for History Buffs when you're traveling, and most definitely for locals! I love walking downtown now knowing the fun history of San Francisco!

A new way to see SF

I really enjoyed this tour. Emperor Norton himself was great, but learning about and actually walking through the history of San Francisco was fantastic. My father grew up in San Francisco, and I had thought I knew a lot about it, but learned so much on the tour. My only complaint was that I wish it was longer, although it already covered a lot of ground and if it were longer some might run into difficulties covering the territory. I would recommend this as a good way to see the inside of the city, beyond all the current distractions.
