Come experience the best the country has to offer in a rewarding, beautiful hike in the Hudson Highlands State Park with a New York State Licensed Outdoor Guide. There are full range of options for all skill levels, desired lengths, natural or cultural focuses and fitness levels. I'd be thrilled to custom tailor your experience from a leisurely tour of the ruins of the Cornish Estate to an exciting scramble up famed Breakneck Ridge and everything in between.
All you need to bring is a sturdy pair of shoes, and a small backpack and I will take care of the rest. A delicious, nutritious snack fit for a day in the woods will be served. If desired, there are many options for food and beverage afterward in the river towns of Cold Spring and Beacon, from great taverns to refined French Cuisine. At the end of the day, you hop on a train and head back to the center of the universe, New York City.
We will meet in the morning at one of the train stations then take a short drive to the trailhead of our choice. We will hike the trails and see the sights and enjoy a delicious snack and beverage for energy and return to the trailhead. From there we can either end the day with me bidding you a fond farewell on the train platform or we can continue the adventure in Cold Spring or Beacon with food and drink and even a trip to Dia:Beacon, a unique modern art museum. The itinerary is what we decide to make of it and is by no means rigid. Adventures demand flexibility for maximum experience and we can even change it up on the fly if need be!
Any expense for transit or other entertainment is up to each individual to cover on their own.
After a life changing experience at Baxter State Park in Maine, I altered the course of my life to be more centered on the outdoors. I have worked for the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, lived in many mountain towns and enjoyed the benefits of solitude and nature. I am again re-shaping my life to fit my desire to lead a cultured, social life close to family and friends while still being focused on what keeps me running: Profound outdoor experiences. I became a Licensed New York State Outdoor Guide and have been working with a company out of Brooklyn taking city dwellers to the mountains to share my love for the outdoors and the pure joy of a wilderness experience.
