Debbie holds Washington University undergraduate degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and a Masters degree from Webster University in Science teaching. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher and has been a high school teacher for 34 years. She worked on botanical research with Professor Walter Lewis as an undergrad at WU in addition to many outdoor botanical classes. Debbie is an avid conservationist who has put her love of art and science to use in many venues, such as a collection of original drawings and paintings from various locations within the Missouri Botanical Garden and an illustrator of children's books involving nature.
