Bullfight on a Rope

If there is one thing you must do while visiting the island, it's see a bullfight on a rope. These bullfights are sewn into the fabric of this culture, so there's no better way to get a taste of life in Terceira than to see one for yourself. We'll meet at our bed & breakfast where we'll drive you to a village holding a bullfight in its streets. There are specific areas where the bull will not enter, so we'll be sure to keep you safe. Once you arrive, part of the experience is stopping at one of the local food vendor's huts for a "bifana" to kick off the party. Then we'll get you situated in a safe area to watch the bull be unleashed on an extra long rope and charge at the brave men that crowd the streets. There are even semi-aquatic bullfights held on the beach or at a fishing port where the bulls end up in the water when chasing after their target. When the festivities are over, we'll bring you back to the B&B; to enjoy a liqueur on the house and recap on all the excitement!
