Art & Design Tour in Munich, Germany: Munich Walking Tour

This guided tour brings you to the all the important historic sights in Munich's city center.

Along with historic pictures and the narration of the tour, you will get to experience and understand the history of this city. This includes its early days since its foundation in the 12th century as well as the age of the Bavarian kings and the nazi era (along with the story of Hitler's first attempt to rise to power, the site of book burnings and a memorial for the resistance against the nazi regime).

The tour can be narrated in German, English, or French. It is meant to be as personal as possible and is therefore limited to 5 participants. This ensures that we can get to know each other and that the tour can be interactive instead of just a monologue.

Ludwigstraße
Siegestor
LMU university
Odeonsplatz
The Bavarian Royal Residence and its garden
Königsplatz
Marienplatz & The Town Hall
Frauenkirche
Hotel Bayerischer Hof
Sendlinger Tor (old city gate)

At the beginning of the tour, you will be given a little fact sheet about the major historic dates, in order to better understand the narration.

A ticket for public transportation is not required, but if you bring one, we might be faster. None of the sights visited charge admission.

Frankly speaking, as I had thought this program is too cheap, I didn't expect much. I knew, however, the guess was wrong soon after the tour had started. He was a very excellent guide as well as funny. His easy explanation made us understand better about the history of Munich. I think the price for his tour program should rise more. It would be lucky if you choose this program before the price is going up. I really recommend. Thank you, Matthias.
