Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage village. It's located 25 miles outside Lisbon and is one of the most magical and mysterious places in Europe. Old Castles, ancient palaces and very nice people make Sintra one of the most interesting places to visit during a staying in Lisbon. Sintra is number 9 in New York Times' places to visit.

We leave Lisbon by car, take the scenic route by the ocean, go and see the most westernly point in Europe, Cabo da Roca, and then go to Sintra and visit the main palace and castle. Ah! Of course! You get to eat some of the most fabulous cakes in the world: queijadas and travesseiros.

And... who knows... you might end up being a character in one of my next books.
