Brendan Shanahan is a writer and journalist, specialising in travel. He lives in Sydney, Australia and Las Vegas. He writes for various publications internationally and is the author of three books. His latest, Mr Snack and the Lady Water: travel tales from my lost years, is available from Melbourne University Press: https://www.mup.com.au/items/123114 He has a degree in Art and History and Curatorship from the Australian National University, a qualification he has never once used to any practical end. He is obsessed with reality television, especially The Amazing Race and Ru Pauls' Drag Race.
