West London Premiership Football Tour

with Andrew S.

It's fair to say that Chelsea have professionalized since the 1905-06 season. Whatever you think of the defending skills of David Luiz, he's got nothing on William "Fatty" Foulke, a 300lb goalkeeper who'd pick up opposing players and throw them in his net. Perhaps Petr Čech can learn a few tricks from him...

On this walk we'll discuss Fatty and other west London football folklore. We'll visit the European champs and their deadly local rivals, Fulham, as well as Queens Park Rangers.

We'll go to Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea, before a beautiful riverside walk to Fulham FC's Craven Cottage - and its infamous Michael Jackson statue. Then we'll hop on the tube to visit Loftus Road, where QPR currently battle against the threat of relegation. Aside from football and football history, it's a chance to explore some of the most fascinating districts of west London and spend a few hours chatting about the Beautiful Game.
