In all my travels around the world and seeing many oceans and coastlines, Oregon’s coastline in by far my favorite! It is graced with unforgettable vistas, dramatic cliffs, offshore rocks and monoliths, Whales and sea lions; wide sandy beaches; majestic capes; historic lighthouses; old growth forests and lovely small beach towns which artists and artisans call their home. Along the coast we will visit the Historic town of Astoria, Columbia River Maritime Museum, Astoria Column, Charming town of Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock Marine Garden and Landmark and spectacular views of the dramatic Pacific Ocean Coastline.
Astoria: First American Settlement west of the Rockies.
Columbia River Maritime Museum: The Columbia River bar, where the Columbia River opens to a 5 mile wide mouth and empties into the Pacific Ocean, is known as the "Graveyard of the Pacific. Visit this museum to find out why.

Ecola State Park is situated on the edge of coastal cliffs. Your first picturesque view of the Oregon Coast: wind-swept trees, dramatic cliffs, historic light-house, bird sanctuaries and of course the majestic Pacific Ocean. Roosevelt Elk if we're lucky!
