This tour combines a cultural visit to the spiritual heart of Catalonia - the monastery of Montserrat with a hike to the top of its highest mountain - St Jeroni, which offers incredible views over breathtaking surroundings and vertical cliffs.
You will not only get an opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique religious atmosphere of this special place but also discover the curious and exciting Catalan landscape, flora and fauna. We will walk off the beaten tourist path and behold the real Montserrat, dignified and serene, beautiful nature at its best.

On this full-day excursion you will:
• see the unique statue of a dark-coloured Madonna, La Moreneta, who is the patron Saint of Catalonia and is said to perform miracles;
• explore the ancient and still functioning monastery, which has been at the centre of Catalan national identity formation for many centuries;
• marvel at the masterpieces of Spanish and European art at the monastery museum, including works by El Greco, Caravaggio, Giordano, Picasso, Degas, Miro, Monet, Rusiñol and Casas;
• taste the traditional local products such as cheese, honey, and fig sweets as well as liqueurs produced by the monks following ancient and secret recipes;
• take a journey in a cable car or a mountain train with unbelievable views over the mountain scenery;
• and the highlight of the tour - the hike up to the tallest mountain of Montserrat with great photo-taking opportunities along the way!
