Having lived in many different places in Europe and overseas I first came to Spain as an exchange student a few years ago and immediately fell in love with this fascinating and diverse country.

After graduating from Oxford I moved to Barcelona to work in academic research but found the office environment too stifling and missing in human contact so I decided to pursue my passion for travel, languages, history, culture, and working with people by becoming a Local Guide and a freelance European Tour Director.

My first occupation allows me to share my genuine enthusiasm for Barcelona and Catalonia and excellent knowledge of its art, history, architecture, current affairs, cuisine and culture with visitors from all over the world.

In my second role I travel all around Europe on a regular basis so whether you are looking for the best classical music concert in Vienna, the strongest espresso in Sorrento, the most picturesque mountain view in Lucerne, or even just a way of avoiding queues to the Eiffe... [More]

Jana was not available on the day we visited but Vayable arranged Sam Zucker as the substitute. We very much enjoyed the tour as Sam did an awesome job. In addition to touring the great sites and learning about the history we got to eat and drink at several authentic bars and restaurants. Sam is a trained chef and Barcelona food writer. Overall we had a great experience.

This tour was absolutely delightful. We coordinate this tour and another one with Jana and she was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed her knowledge of the history and legends of the area. This tour was interesting, fun, and informative. Jana does an amazing job of combining legendary stories with historical facts, making for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the area. Next time we are in Barcelona we will book another tour with Jana.

This tour is amazing, and Jana is by far the most interesting guide I've ever had. She covered a lot of ground, while making the history of Barcelona intriguing and captivating. She is full of so much knowledge, and shares it in an interesting and wonderful way. My family and I can not rave enough about her and the tour. It was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. If you are in the city, Jana's tour is an absolute must.

Jana is a delightful guide that made Gaudi's (or actually the whole modernisme movement's) vision truly understandable. She surprised us with a lot of little quirky stories that are not even known by the "pro" guides e.g. at Casa Mila. Consequently, we can only recommend her and the tour to everyone planning a trip to Barcelona.

What a great trip. Jana customized the tour from our wishes and interests and she was a great storyteller. We saw everything from the dodgy areas with prostitutes (and other interesting people) to a very nice art gallery where the owner told us stories about the art scene in Barcelona and the artists. Jana gave us good tips on restaurants, good bars and so on. I would highly recommend this trip!!!!

Jana is a great guide-- very knowledgeable and extremely friendly-- and the information about Gaudi and the buildings exceeded our expectations. We thought it was the best tour on offer in Barcelona, and were very pleased with the three hours we had to learn about the extensive symbolism on the exterior of La Sagrada Familia, to explore La Pedrera and check out the Casa Batallo. We know a lot more about the Gaudi the Genius now. We highly recommend this tour!

This was the most interesting and informative trip my wife and I have ever taken. You did an outstanding job. Everything went perfectly. We were on time for every event. There were no hitches or overlaps on the Itinerary. I will definitely use and recommend your services to all my acquaintances and friends. We both fell in love with Spain and will return in the near future. Thanks again Tikva and Irwin

Jana was absolutely amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable about all things Gaudi, the man and his work, and also about Spain and the time in which he lived to provide context. She was also very accommodating when we asked to switch the starting location (we did the tour backwards). A+ Tour guide.
