Somerset Maugham called la Rambla “the most beautiful street in the world” and now it’s your chance to discover this bustling artery of Barcelona and learn the secrets and stories behind its world-famous sights.
For example, did you know that there are actually not one but five Ramblas? Or that in the olden days the boulevard was called “el cagallel”, which means a “poo stream”? Or that George Orwell used to fight from the top of one of Rambla’s iconic buildings during the Spanish Civil War?
On this tour we will ramble down la Rambla from the top to the bottom and explore the history, current affairs, art, culture, and architecture of Barcelona through the lens of its most popular street. Highlights include:
