Take a walking tour through the French Quarter, where you can experience the sites, stories and sounds of New Orleans' rich music heritage. The tour includes the roots of jazz, the legends of jazz, rhythm and blues and funk legends, and rock gods. Recorded music helps illustrate the stories, and live music can be included if desired.
Itinerary
Piano virtuoso Louis Morreau Gottshalk's house, French Opera House site, Congo Square & Armstrong Park, J&M Music Shop and recording studio where New Orleans rock hits were recorded in the 1950s, Preservation Hall, the site of the Ivanhoe Lounge, where New Orleans funk legends played, hotels on Royal and Bourbon Street where rock gods partied hard.
