Do you know how to order a macchiato in a French café? Do you know if the cheese comes before or after dessert? Do Parisians really eat those delicious pastries? Then why are they so skinny?
This tour is an introduction to the ways French people approach food and a manual for you to eat like a Parisian. Yes, it is important to eat what locals eat, but even more important: to do it the way they do!
I'm a food historian with ten years of food touring experience. Sign up for this tour and learn the local etiquette, what to eat for breakfast, where to eat lunch, how to pick your cheese, and more!
The tour takes place in a non-touristic, typical Parisian neighborhood, around one of the liveliest markets in Paris, the Marché d'Aligre.
We will start our visit in a café, proceed to a boulangerie (bakery), and then wander through a typical Parisian indoor and outdoor market. We will taste exotic charcuterie (cured meat products), amazing pastries, and a wide selection of cheeses accompanied by wine from our local caviste, directly from the barrel!
The tour is held on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 am to 1 pm.
2 people min, 6 max.
