Family Adventure in Chiang Mai

Discover the Rose of the North, Chiang Mai, and its beautiful surrounding countryside. Explore the city, forests, hills and rivers by bicycle, raft and elephant. You’ll get to meet hill tribe people and stay with village locals in a community ecotourism project.

Experience the charm of Chiang Mai starting with a trishaw ride to a busy local market and sample a cup of the local Arabica at a coffee research project. Continue to a hill tribe village to meet the locals, ending your day with a private blessing ceremony at Chiang Mai’s most sacred temple, Wat Doi Suthep. Next day we’ll mountain bike through country scenery; elephant trek through jungle paths then board a rubber raft for an exhilarating ride downriver to meet an Akha hill tribe family in their village. Stay at a home stay in the countryside, helping your family with the dinner and strolling around the friendly village. After saying goodbye to your hosts you’ll head for a hot springs where the water is guaranteed to relax.

Day 1 - Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 - This morning pick up your mountain bike at Lisu Village and cycle along quiet country roads, past delightful rural scenery.

Day 3 - Now we head for Mae Kampong village in the countryside outside of Chiang Mai. It’s a 12 year old Community ecotourism project set up to help local villagers find a sustainable means of income to prevent them from illegal forest encroachment.

Day 4 - Enjoy a hot breakfast with your hosts, after which you can see how the villagers produce the local specialty of fermented tea leaves and other handmade products.
