The best way to experience another culture is through enjoyment of its cuisine. I have explored Tijuana's eateries for over ten years and have found many great places to eat at, most off the beaten path. My goal is to introduce you to authentic food from Tijuana, whether that means chowing down tacos at a taco cart, slurping a fresh seafood cocktail that was prepared before your eyes, eating at a mom-and-pop food counter, or sipping juice from a coconut sold from a tiny thatched-roof hut.

In Tijuana you definitely get more for your money, and I can show you all the best deals. This tour is ideal for foodies and those who enjoy tasty, inexpensive meals at hole-in-the-wall eateries.

We'll meet up at the 24-hour McDonald's at the San Ysidro Trolley Station. I'll show you the quickest route to downtown Tijuana as we meander our way through a variety of streetside vendors. We'll cross a bridge overlooking the Tijuana River and stroll past a secluded artisan's market. From there we'll pass by a wax museum and various hotels/motels until we arrive at the iconic Tijuana arch where travelers get their first glimpse of Revolution Avenue, the heart of downtown Tijuana.

From here we can walk to the taco stands and restaurants I have in mind in ten to twenty minutes. I will cater the itinerary depending on your needs. Along the way I'll show you a Mexican market with a fabulous bakery, a tucked away art gallery, Tijuana's Vegas-like casino, and two professional massage establishments where you can get pampered for a fraction of the price you'd pay elsewhere. Other destinations may include a trip to the seafood market or the Mercado Hidalgo, Tijuana's largest indoor-outdoor market. Last but not least, I can take you to a few of the eateries Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern showcased on their Travel Channel shows.

I hope you'll join me on my Tijuana Foodie Walking Tour. We'll have a great time, and I promise to satisfy your appetite. Come hungry!
