Sightseeing in Hong Kong
Hong Kong can be a go-go-go city. Lots of people, lots of cars, lots of bright and colorful object vying for attention. If you are staying in one of the city centers (Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mongkok) you could walk around for days and not take it all in.
In the hot humid months (June- September) it is best to find shade and air-conditioning to tour the city. Various bus companies and private car tours will gladly take you around to the temples, the street markets and parks around town.

First-timers
Two must-dos for first timers: Ride the Peak Tram to get an eagle's view of the city. Ride the Star Ferry to get a seagull's view of the city. Both inexpensive ways to enjoy Hong Kong.
Local Favorites
Dim sum and a newspaper is how many start their day in Hong Kong. Cheap as chips, get up with the locals and enjoy a pot of tea and a basket dumplings with them.
Self-Guided Tours
Following the elevated walkways from the Star Ferry in Central, one can climb up and up to Conduit Road without having to step onto street level once. Along the way you will see retail stores old and modern, a traditional Chinese medicine shop, small galleries and many eateries to grab a bite along the route.
Views
Views can be seen all over the city and out on the trails. The best views are at night when the skyline is lit by the skyscrapers. Arange for evening cocktails on the Aqua Luna, a refurbished Chinese ship, for a tour of the habour. Or go budget and ride the Star Ferry and BYOB.
