A great experience exploring East London with the opportunity to sample the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of wonderful local markets and neighborhood hangouts. My guide Kathryn made a special effort to really customize the tour to my interests and choices. We started with a hidden gallery tour of art created by people with disabilities located in unused office space. We then wandered across the London Bridge and into Boroughs Market which was bustling with vendors selling everything from soap to venison. Great options for a sit down lunch, but we decided to choose to sample some of the many delicacies and specialties in the market. Too many choices, but I can return here now that I know the place. We continued on the tour boarding a typical double decker bus, and rode up front on top into Hackney and a decidedly different visit in another market populated by West Africans and locals selling everything from lamb heads to suitcases. Felt almost like I had stepped into another world. Who knew this existed here in London. Capped it off with a walk along the canal. Throughout, Kathryn was informative and eminently helpful answering all of my questions. This is what Vayable is all about, connecting with a local and giving you a chance to step outside the tourist track and really experience the city. Priceless. I highly recommend this tour.

Peter had been trying to book on an experience with me for a couple of months, so we were lucky to finally be able to get a plan together. I love having keen walkers and despite the wind and cold it was great to be able to walk and talk (and catch a bus) with Peter to get to various places. He was just as enthusiastic about eating at Borough Market (foodie heaven) as perusing the many stalls at Ridley Road Market - selling weird and exotic animal parts (perhaps not for the squeamish). He also introduced me to the world of geocaching. Just one of the many things I love about hosting travel experiences - I get to learn just as much as the explorers do!
