Austin is known for its unique public art. Get a behind the scenes look at some of my favorite pieces and hear about the inspiration behind sculptures directly from their creators.

I created much of the public art in Austin and am friends with most of the other public artists in the area. I can share stories from behind the scenes about the creation of each of the works that we will be seeing.

On this tour, we will drive through South Austin, stopping at several of the best known public art pieces in the SoCo area, including the "Bat Sculpture", a kinetic bat with a thirty foot wingspan that has become an Austin favorite and "Casa Neverlandia", a mosaic house that looks like it came straight from a fairy tale!

This tour is a glimpse into the artist community of Austin where you can just forget about "corporate" Austin. While on the tour, we felt like we were Dale's best friends as he took us to meet his artist friends and showed us the art they had created. We started at the Bat sculpture, for which Dale is the sculptor (!), and he showed us his portfolio. Basically, anyone who has been or lived in Austin, is familiar with Dale's work and they just don't know it. The time flew by as we walked and drove all around South Austin. I highly recommend this tour and I will gladly sign-up again to see even more.
