Want to see the real Vancouver? The East Village is a colourful mix of cultures and ethnicities from its Italian heritage to the influx of Chinese and South East Asian influences. We guide you through this eccentric neighbourhood and sample various cuisines from restaurants, delis, bakeries, butchers, small grocery stores, and posh Italian eateries. We provide transportation to and from the tour area in our private van from our downtown pickup location.
The tour starts at the tiny but eclectic Steam Tea House for some samples of tea. Located in a multicultural grocery store, this tea shop has over 80 varietals of tea from the exotic to the comforting. Then we navigate through the oldest neighbourhood in the city stopping at 5 local shops. We pop into a family-run butcher shop for a salami tasting, a mind-blowing bakery for some delicious baked goods and more. We end the tour at Campagnolo Roma, one of the hottest Italian restaurants in the city where we dine on traditional pizza. Delizioso!
Our story is a love story. A love for enjoying good food with new friends, a love for the amazing and diverse city that is Vancouver, and a love for sharing this food and city with others. We have been friends for over 10 years and always talked about starting our own company. With our combined backgrounds in tourism and the hospitality industry, a culinary tour company was a perfect match. We were both avid travellers (and eaters!) and we realized that there were two things we held dear when travelling abroad. First, getting off the tourist grid and exploring hidden areas. And second, getting insider tips on where the locals eat. So we decided to combine these two values and create memorable tours that are truly different and fun.
