Ever since we opened up our home, we’ve been having a pretty good time cooking for some really interesting people.

Shaheen’s got quite the unconventional food background. After majoring in Marketing and working in an IT company where she brought brownies to office, she figured she’d rather be doing more of that than sitting at a desk. She moved on to work at a French style pâtisserie in Bombay, India for six months, after which she ran a successful dessert delivery business that got hugely popular in a short span of time. It won accolades in Vogue, TimeOut, Times of India and various other publications. She worked as the consulting food editor for BBC Good Food Magazine in India and authored the cover story, for the launch issue before she moved to Paris. She has been awarded the James Beard Scholarship to study Pâtisserie at Le Cordon Bleu, London and The Culinary Trust Scholarship to study Cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. She blogs about her bakes, travels and food adventures on PurpleFoodie.com and visits the back of boulangeries and eats chocolate in the name of research.
