Details

Chongming Island, the most rural area and unspoiled natural preserve,has a history of over 1300 years. It's the third largest island in China, located on the estuary of Yangtze River, about 1hr drive from Shanghai. The eco-island is an urban oasis with fertile soil and luxuriant forests.

Come to our ecological Xianqiao village, live in the youth hostel, harvest with our farmers, entertain in our multifunctional greenhouse, bike around, watch birds, taste our special local food - experience China's traditional country life.

Itinerary

2 light lunch (local cuisine)
1 dinner,having a local meal at a farmer's house, learning to cook in a traditional way (using dried leaves & wood for a fire,heating a fixed big pot)

Get to know our village by walking, pick up strawberries, help out our farmers on the field.

You may also attend our local Dance Party in the evening.

North Lake riding & picnic, watch birds(Autumn only), bamboo weaving class with 70-yr-old Grandpa Shi.

Bring a camera and dress comfortably for the weather and field work.
