Built in the 12th century by a consortium belonging to the powerful Guelf family. The present owner's father bought it in 1972. It's now an exclusive B&B; but in the past it served as a military fort and a prison. Ancient graffiti can still be seen on the internal walls - often quite crude but still hundreds of years old! There are spectacular views from the roof top terrace, which is not for the faint hearted as it's a long, steep climb to the top. Even more exclusive: a romantic dinner with accompanying violinist (or any musician) on the very top can be arranged.
This is modern B&B; with all mod cons. There is only 1 bedroom so you must rent the whole tower! The view from the top is amazing as all of Bologna can be seen from above.

Simply, by wandering around and talking to people, carrying out a bit of research here and there, doors have been opened revealing the most incredible treasures, views and experiences that cannot be found through the usual tourist choices. Furthermore, my circle of friends, clients and contacts span literally every sector, market, business and network. I live the Italian life-style to the full so come and visit us before this city becomes the next Florence/Venice and enjoy a truly authentic experience in one of Italy's least appreciated cities.
