Spread around the Bologna University campus are a group of museums rarely visited by tourists. There are thousands of exhibits varying greatly from human anatomy to natural history, mineralogy and more. World renowned collectors and scientists number among those who contributed to these museums over the centuries.
There are a handful of museums all within walking distance. Since they are so diverse it all depends on personal taste, suffice to say, that each one boasts many valuable and exciting displays.
Originally from Belfast, Ireland, but I've travelled extensively. Lived all over Europe for many years until I finally set down roots in Bologna, Italy, in 2005. My ambition is to let the world see more of the true historical/artistic value of this city that has lay dormant for so many decades. Nobody knows Bologna better than me! I've discovered a side to Bologna that is completely hidden from view and even the locals knowledge. Simply, by wandering around and talking to people, carrying out a bit of research here and there, doors have been opened revealing the most incredible treasures, views and experiences that cannot be found through the usual tourist choices. Furthermore, my circle of friends, clients and contacts span literally every sector, market, business and network. I live the Italian life-style to the full so come and visit us before this city becomes the next Florence/Venice and enjoy a truly authentic experience in one of Italy's least appreciated cities.
