I am an American who has been living and working throughout Asia since 2006.

My journey started with a love of languages when I was in school, which led to studying Chinese in college, including stints studying abroad in Beijing & Hangzhou. I loved it so much that I eventually moved to Beijing to work in 2006.

A year and a half later, I relocated to Ho Chi Minh City, where I was based as a tour leader for an Australian travel company. I led trips all over Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and China and was lucky enough to see many beautiful places!

These days I am based in Vientiane, Laos, where I have been for about 3 years. I have worked extensively in the tourism industry throughout Asia, and currently am engaged in a mix of freelance work, travel writing, and helping out with some humanitarian development projects.
