Details

Imagine you’re en route to Tokyo with a short layover in the city and it’s your only chance ever to get to know SF. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic, but you get the point. You have a lot to see and not much time. Fortunately, the lovely Miss June is here to show you the tastiest coffee, the greenest spaces, and the most vibrant architecture the city has to offer. You’ll get the local feel of San Francisco, which will make leaving that much harder. Whoever said goodbye is easy?

Itinerary

You’ll taste the best coffee in the city while checking out communal green spaces, an urban farm, and unique architecture. Then you’ll head down to the vibrant Mission district to take in street art and gawk at the glorious tacos.

Includes: one coffee, one small ice cream, a guided tour, and all public transit costs. We'll ride the trolley!

moved out to the bay area...almost 3 years ago now, but haven't had much time/energy to really explore the city beyond the typical tourist areas, and parts that are covered in the blogosphere. June gave me a good take on parts of Hayes Valley and Inner Richmond and showed me some cool places (bookstore, an aquarium!) that I'm confident I'd never find on my own--what was great is that she actually tailored the tour based on what I'd done in the city before so I didn't end up seeing stuff I'd already figured out on my own.

The Whirlwind Introduction to SF is a great little tour for first-time visitors to San Francisco. June takes care to incorporate your personal interests into her tour, so I got to explore the Mission (where the good food, ice cream and coffee live), look at street art, admire the views of the city from Mission Dolores Park, and then finish up at a live gig at Yoshi's. Throughout the tour, June would also explain the history of each neighbourhood we visited. I highly recommend signing up for this tour!

The whirlwind introduction was great. I saw fantastic views of the city (and beyond) from twin peaks, explored the fascinating Sutro Baths ruin, and got an insider's view of the mission and Hayes Valley and the Mission. The guide was knowledgeable, informative and generous with her time. (I'll probably write something longer on my blog, and let you know.)
