Badaling Great Wall is the most well-preserved section of the Great Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). This section with an average altitude of over 1,000 meters (3,282 feet) is the outpost of the Juyongguan Pass. The mountain slope is very steep and the roads are tortuous. The wall is like a strong dragon winding its way along the mountain ranges. The Tiananmen Square is a place to see the national flag raising ceremony. Thousands of people come to the Square every day. The Forbidden City Lying at the city center and called Gu Gong in Chinese, it was the imperial palace for twenty-four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Ancient Chinese Astronomers believed that the Purple Star (Polaris) was in the center of heaven and the Heavenly Emperor lived in the Purple Palace. The Palace for the emperor on earth was so called the Purple City. It was forbidden to enter without special permission of the emperor.
Pick up from hotel lobby at around 8:30am. Transfer to Tiananmen square by car, tour Tiananmen square(40minutes) and Forbidden city(2hours), Lunch at a special characteristic restaurant. In the afternoon transfer to Badaling Great Wall for sightseeing(3hours). The Great Wall is a symbol of Chinese civilization, and one of the wonders that the Chinese people have created. The portion of the wall running through the site was built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, approximately 1,015 metres (3,330 ft) above sea level.
