Badaling Great Wall & Summer Palace Tour

Badaling Great Wall, a most famous section of the Great Wall, its located at Yanqing County in Beijing. Longqing Gorge sits at Yanqing County as well as Badaling Great Wall, so Longqing Gorge also attracts large number of tourists after Badaling Great Wall. Badaling, literally meaning "reach eight directions", got its name because the maze of its ridges stretches in all directions.
The Summer Palace has three main sections including the political active region, living section and visiting area. The serious and imperatorial Renshou Hall is the representative of the political area in Summer Palace.The palace features hundreds of architecturally distinct buildings, halls, pavilions, pagodas, bridges and corridors dispersed among magnificent and elegant gardens.

Pick up at 7:30 am and proceed to visit Badaling Great Wall. Badaling section is the most famous and best-preserved wall. It lies 80 Km away at the northwest of Beijing. If you want to get to the highest point and have a bird eye's view of this section of the great wall, cable car is a good choice ( optional ). After visit local handicraft Jade Factory and learn about the stone carving art in China.

After lunch, transfer to Summer Palace, the largest former royal garden, a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty and its predecessor. The Garden of Clear Ripples ( Qingyiyuan ) started in 1750 and was burned down by the British and French allied troops in 1860. In 1886, Empress Dowager Cixi misappropriated the Navy budget and other funds to reconstruction and renamed the park as Summer Palace in 1888. Return to hotel around 6:00pm.
