The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.

Temples Of Heaven, China's largest temple and altar complex, the Temple of Heaven in the southern part of Beijing covers an area of 270 hectares. The Temple of Heaven is an exquisite and extraordinary example of Chinese religious architecture. Construction of the temple began in 1420 and at the temple emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for abundant harvests.

The Summer Palace was ravaged by the Allied Forces of the Eight Powers that invaded China in 1900. The damage was repaired in 1902. The Summer Palace became the residence of the Dowager Empress Cixi who spent a great deal of money expanding and beautifying the area, supposedly using funds allocated for the modernisation of the Chinese Navy.

Pick up at your hotel around 8:30am. Transfer to Tiananmen Square(40 minutes), the largest city square in the world. From the square, we will view the Gate of Heaven Peace (Tiananmen) where Chairman Mao Zedong proudly claimed the establishment of the People's Republic of China on Oct 01, 1949; monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, and Mao's Mausoleum. Then visit to the Forbidden City(2 hours), now known as the Imperial Palace Museum. The Forbidden City used to home for 24 Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors. The last emperor, Puyi lived in the Forbidden City till 1924.

Have lunch in a nice Halal local restaurant(1.5hours).

In the afternoon transfer to Temple Of Heaven(1.5hours), dating from the 15th century. Built in the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Temple Of Heaven was the center of prayer, traditional ceremonies and sacrificial rites. Then visit to Summer Palace(1.5hours).It's a busy day, but will also include a visit to Silk Factory for a shopping experience not to be missed. Transfer back to your hotel.
