Fragrance Hill, with another name of Jingyi Garden, was first built in the year of 1186. During Yuan and Ming Dynasty, frequently constructions made this park gradually come into being. During Qianlong Decade of the Qing Dynasty, the large-scale construction of the Fragrant Hills made it become a large-scale imperial garden - "Providence Park," and was among the list of famous gardens and parks in Qing Dynasty. It was unfortunately looted and burned in 1860 and 1900. After 1949, most famous spots had been repaired.

The Beijing Botanical Garden is a botanical garden situated in the northwestern outskirts of Beijing, China between Xiangshan (Fragrant Hills) Park and Jade Spring Mountain in the Western Hills. It is 23 kilometers (about 14 miles) far from downtown. In 1956, the project (with a planned coverage of 4,000,000 square meters or nearly 1,000 acres) was begun. Now, it has an open area of 2,000,000 square meters (about 500 acres). It consists of the Plant Exhibition Area, the Scenic Spot and the Historical Resorts, the Scientific Research Area and the Nature Reserve. 10,000 categories of plant with a population of 1.5 million plants are cultivated here, for which this one has been regarded as the biggest in north China so far.

Pick up at 8:00am and proceed to visit Fragrant Hill. Fragrant Hill（2hours) is a perfect place to escape in the lush greenery and fresh air. The best time to visit Fragrant Hills is in autumn, when the trees turn the hills fiery red. The 576 meters tall peak commands an excellent view of the surrounding greenery and city.
After Chinese lunch, move on to Beijing Botanical Garden nearby. Beijing Botanical Gardens are located in the western outskirts of the city between Xiangshan Park and Jade Spring Mountain. Although the gardens are not large, with only some 3,000 different plant species, many famous and rare plant specimens are on display.
Return to your hotel around 6:00pm.
